Everyman's delisting buy hits 34% as oil sinks PANR pair
Directors deployed £20.4m across 196 purchases in June, the largest single cluster by value being four Jardine Matheson insiders spending £4.2m between 18 and 30 June. The standout individual trade was Charles Dorfman's £378k buy in Everyman Media ahead of its AIM delisting proposal, which is up 34% in a fortnight and hit a new 52-week high near 50p. The month's clearest loser was Pantheon Resources, where two directors put in over £1m combined and are sitting on losses of 15-20% as crude oil collapsed on US-Iran ceasefire hopes. Of the five picks featured in May, three are ahead of the director's entry price: Magnum Ice Cream has extended its gain to 21% and Jardine Matheson continues to grind higher, but Shoe Zone has reversed sharply from its 27% peak to a 8% loss, and The Smarter Web Company has deepened to a 31% drawdown.

The FTSE All-Share returned 1.4% in June, a modest positive backdrop that masked sharp divergence at the sector level. Energy was the worst-performing sector in the insider dataset, with a median return of minus 11% against the index, as Brent crude fell roughly 30% from its April peak toward $73-78 on progress toward a US-Iran deal and rising OPEC supply expectations. Consumer Discretionary and Telecommunications were the two sectors where insider buying generated positive alpha over the period, though both have fewer than 15 buys and the returns are too early to read as a pattern. The industrials sector absorbed the most capital by far at £9.6m, yet its median alpha was slightly negative, a divergence worth watching as the MPAC profit warning and broader capex caution among UK manufacturers suggest the sector's near-term earnings risk has not fully cleared.
